About Mule 1
In collaboration with Julio Colon III (iA), MULE 1 is a reinterpretation of the classic loafer and its iconic seam. The surface tension on the "seam" is inspired by the sculptural work of Agostino Bonalumi. This surface tension mirrors the sculptural tension of a body in motion; the tension of skin stretched across bone. Move with grace.

Inspired by nature & the human experiences created in it, Hek Lab is an exploration of circular footwear concepts through 3D printing. Often more question than answer, the design ethos of Hek Lab is to deliver something unexpected, rather than more of the same.
